In the face of you
I saw you the other day,
You didn’t see me turn away,
You’re near the end of your years,
The children’s laughter in your ears,
As you struggle down the road,
It’s a long, long way to go.
MID 8:
And it’s hard, and it’s tearing you apart.
It’s the saddest thing I’ve seen in a long long time, oh I saw death, both your’s and mine,
And it’s the hardest thing, I ever had to do,
To recognise my death, in the face of you.
I know what its like to be led out of the cold,
With teachers warm hand there for me to hold,
But I don’t know what it’s like and,
I hope I never do,
To be as old or as lonely as you.
In to every life a little rain must fall that’s true,
But I know there’s been a storm,
raging around you,
Well I’ve had my share of rain and I know there’s more to come,
But I’m weathering the storm and I got it on the run

The Border
I’ve been pinning my heart on my chest
And running around in this bullet proof vest
Cos everyone’s trying to shoot me down
Everyone in this town
The bullets are flying as I’m singing this song
To all the young dead boys who never done wrong
Just signed up to fight for what they believed
And were put in the ground too soon, too young
Those brave boys are flying, they’re running tonight
To get to the border before they run out
Of luck and are caught and are beaten and killed
And there’s nothing left of them, nothing at all
The sun has been shining on me all along
In the heat of the desert where everything’s going
To come to an end, will you still be my friend
When I tell you that I can’t fight anymore
I’m going to run to the border, run while I can
I’m turning my back on this hostile old land
Cos everyone’s trying to shoot me down
Everyone in this town
