I’m so scared (we’re coming to the end)

Its 10am my head is dull and there’s a battle raging in my skull
And I don’t know where you’ve been... all night again
But another bottle lies there dead and there’s only one soul in our bed
And it scares me to death...that we are coming to the end

Now the sound of the ticking clock is booming through our empty rooms
Sunlight cutting sharply through the silence
So I turn the TV on but nothing works it feels so wrong
And the minutes pass like hours, in this lonely home of ours

It’s only cos you hung around that I kept my feet on the ground
I never would have made it here without you
Now don’t you tell me, I don’t want to know, that’s not the way it’s meant to go
I never could... make it... without you.

When you come home what will you say this time, your lying breaks this heart of mine
It’s cold and blunt and said without emotion
And you get so angry if I start to cry that I daren’t look you in the eye
So it’s forgotten and we just carry on

But next time comes around so quick and the pain relief it makes me sick
And I guess that I can’t take it anymore
And this ain’t Hollywood, learning my lines wont do me no good
I’ll just pack my bags and move on

Too Long in the Tooth

How would it be, a dalliance with me
How would it make you feel
I’m too long in the tooth to tell you the truth
If my heart you were looking to steal

I’m set in my ways and all of my days
Are filled with what I desire
My hearts too old and too bloody damn cold
If you wanted to start a fire

I’m too far down the road, for you to lighten the load
I made my bed long ago
I’ve got beer whisky and wine and they’re sweethearts so divine
And they’re all I really desire

How would it be a dalliance with me
How would it make you feel
I’m too long in the tooth to tell you the truth
If my heart you were looking to steal
If my heart you were looking to steal

I would take you home again

I would take you home again
If you would say you’re mine
Though since you and I were lovers
It’s been a long, long time

I was young and fanciful
And you, you were my girl
Since then a lot of waters flown by
Lots of changes in this world

The world that we once knew my dear
Was simpler than today
And I wish that I could travel there
Back home to yesterday

Oh wont you come back home with me
And tell me you are mine
And we’ll stay a while together
In love so sublime

I would take you home again
If you would say you’re mine
Though since you and I were lovers
It’s been… a long, long time
